Hi all from Italy

Post by Lorenz67 »

Hello,
I'm a new user with AS-302T @ home, not familiar with ADM or Linux in general.
Currently experiencing an issue with XBMC and HDMI, I will browse the forums looking for that.
ciao!

Hello,

AS 302-T is connected to a Samsung UE32C6000 TV.
XBMC doesn't send audio to the TV via HDMI cable (XBMC System->Settings->System->Audio output set to "HDMI") while the video is ok.
If I set the Audio output to "Analog" it works fine with my audio amplifier.

I will look around a little bit for this...

If you set audio output to HDMI, it means that your audio raw data will send to HDMI receiving device (your TV) directly. If the movies audio is dolby digital, your TV need to decode this kind of format which most of TVs does not own this capability. If you set audio output to analog, it means that XBMC will decode those format and send data to HDMI receiving device (your TV). So your TV do not need to decode the compressed audio format.

If you connect NAS HDMI to AVR, then to TV, you should set audio output to HDMI. But, if nas hdmi directly to TV, you should set to analog.
