New NAS, HDD shown as READY but not inside ADM

Post by Xreedom »

Hello everyone,i am totally new to the NAS scene and i am just trying to set up my new AS6702T but i can't seem to find my harddisk on the ADM portal itself. the NAS itself is showing the HDDs(solid green LED) but not inside the ADM portal(nothing at all).

drives installed are
HDD1: WD red plus 6tb
HDD2: WD red plus 6tb
SSD1 : XPG sx6000 pro 500gb(intended to use for Caching)
SSD2 : XPG sx6000 pro 500gb(intended to use for Caching)
SSD3 : XPB SX8200 pro 2TB

Currently i set up the 2 SSD(1 & 2) as RAID 1 just to test thing out. i am trying to set up the 2 HDD in RAID 1 , the 2 500gb ssd as cache read/write, and the extra SSD as normal volume(had one i removed from old rig of mine)

Image
Anyhelp is much appriciated.

I don't have your model but the two HDDs should appear in the bay slots section. Try shutdown the NAS, reinsert the two HDDs then turn back on.

If you have some Linux knowledge you can SSH into the NAS then take a look at the dmesg. Else it would be best that you contact Asustor Support open a ticket with them especially this is a new NAS.

You may have to create a shared folder on the drive first.
I've spend some time myself before figuring this out.

Can you create a folder when you go to: Access management -> Shared Folders ?

A volume needs to created prior creating shared folders on the particular disks/RAID. The problem is, from what we can see on the attached photo, the two 6TB disks doesn't appear in the Storage Manager.

Yes, the two disks are not showing up on the Storage Manager.
i've tried removing both the m.2 ssd and powering on but i am met with "no harddrive detected" error. i'll try grab an spare HDD from my office and try plugging in to see if that works.

Sorry, Nazar is right. I did not read carefully enough. :(
Maybe you could attach a monitor to see if the HDDs are recognized in the bios.
