I have a 4 bay NAS which currently has 2 x 16TB HDD’s set to RAID 1
I want to add another HDD, 10TB.
Can I do so and use it independently of the other drives, or when adding drives must they form part of a RAID?
Thanks for your help.

Re: Adding A New HDD
You can add as a single drive.
AS5304T - 16GB DDR4 - ADM-OS modded on 2GB RAM
Internal:
- 4x10TB Toshiba RAID10 Ext4-Journal=Off
External 5 Bay USB3:
- 4x2TB Seagate modded RAID0 Btrfs-Compression
- 480GB Intel SSD for modded dm-cache (initramfs auto update patch) and Apps

BTW - I see you're into RC Heli's.
Me too, but absolutely useless at flying them, so I cheated and bought the Fly Wing FW200
I may also buy the FW450

No problem. Nice to know someone with similar hobbies.
It's been a while since I flew a 450 or 600, now I only fly DJI drones due to stricter regulations

I've had a few DJI drones, Phantom, Inspire, Mavic.Nazar78 wrote:No problem. Nice to know someone with similar hobbies.

I'm now contemplating buying the DJI 3 Pro - seems a very good drone which, due to its weight, is not so restrictive, in the UK at least.

Re: Adding A New HDD
Wow an Inspire. My first was the OG Mavic, Mavic 2 Pro then the latest cutie sub 250g haha small but it's a league of its kind. Yes it's a very good drone, you should get it. I thought of getting the Mavic 3 but too much restriction nowadays. So I had fun flyin the mini 3 in my small room. Even created a hood for the RC:

Re: Adding A New HDD
Yes, sorry, the thread went OT. (Nice shade BTW)
My fault
Just to bring back on topic, when I put the new drive into the NAS, do I have to synchronize it?

Re: Adding A New HDD
You don't need to sync single drives. Only certain RAID need to resync/rebuild.
