AS6404T gives not ready on ACC
My 6404T says not ready in the status column and will not change. i have rebooted it a few times, I have checked my firewall settings and now i just can't access my files.

Your information is too few to understand what's the problem. How about ADM web page (browser connects to NAS)? If it's in initial setup state, I think you should do nothing. And send a support request to asustor to check it. https://support.asustor.com/

Are you using a VPN client on your computer? ACC needs to broadcast to 255.255.255.255 on port 8888, and some VPN clients do not allow that even if local network sharing is enabled.
In addition, ACC on macos (but not on Windows) is buggy. You need to quit and relaunch it to detect changes in the NAS status.
