NAS Asustor AS3204TNon-stop drives are working

Post by KrissPL »

I have AS3204T, 3x4TB Seagate SkyHawk - non RAID. Works only as a data warehouse. Non-stop drives are working - scratching can be heard, although nothing is uploaded or downloaded. In addition, it does not go into hibernation, it is blocked by the mdadm process. Do you have a solution for this? This is extremely annoying.

I guess you did not close the browser (ADM page) to monitor those activities. ADM web page will generate certain disk accesses (mdadm).

You should start diagnostic tool, then close all of ADM page and other related pages (ex: netdata). Wait for 30 minutes (the period that you set in the tool). After that, go to ADM web page to check result.

It's still caused by mdadm (not at start time and end time)? If yes, I think you should send a support request to asustor directly. https://support.asustor.com/

Had you found any solutions for it? I also am struggling with the same issue. My disks are constantly spinning. mdadm constantly read/write to them :|
