RSYNC Takes Forever

Post by botics »

3.4.4.RAT2 - Anyone having abnormal issues with RSYNC backups? When I run a backup it shows 1378 weeks, 2 days, 5 hours and 52 seconds. My backups take over an hour and has been happening since the latest update. Any ideas?

Still having issues. Drives check out ok, no encryption/ compression - but backing up is painfully slow. Never had this issue before. Anyone have any suggestions?

I experienced the same slowness as you. Because cifs/smb is much faster in my setup, I gave up on Rsync and am now using Robocopy with the /mir switch (among others) from a batch script on my Win10 desktop. I've automated it via task scheduler, and it's now working a treat. The mirror is on a second, older NAS on the same LAN.

I ended up doing the same thing. Also take a look at the Oyen Mobius Pro Storage System 5 Bay Storage System (USB)
