[Kodi 18.0] for x86-64 models in case Xorg upgrade to 10.14.8.R107

Post by Patrick »

Hi,

ASUSTOR upgrade Xorg, ASUSTOR Portal and Firefox to solve the playback issues in Netflix, Amazon Prime, Spotify web site last week.
This Xorg version (10.14.8.R107) is based on the version for AS5202T/AS5304T, and applied to other x86-64 models (AS31/32/50/51/61/62/63/64/70).

Current kodi 17.6 seems got compatibility issue with new Xorg, please get kodi 18.0 if you upgrade Xorg to 10.14.8.R107.

Even that kodi 18.0 can support 4K 10bits videos playback, but it MUST need new Intel CPU inside.
Based on Intel information, ApolloLake (AS6302T/AS6404T) should support Decode only.
Please try if AS6302T/AS6404T can support or not, I don't have these 2 models.

To install kodi 18.0 for other x86-64 models may not successfully playback 4K 10bits videos, but performance should be better,
and it's compatible with Xorg 10.14.8.R107.

P.S: This kodi 18.0 can support to playback DD / DTS audio codec, please remove original "mykodi_patch" if you installed.

AS3204T / AS6102T , ADM 4.0
AS5304T + kodi 18 => 4K 10bits videos, have a try...

Hello.
KODI 17.6.0.R3 with Xorg 10.14.8.R107 works without problems on my AS3202T.
But I will definitely try KODI 18. Thank you very much.

Is this the most recent version 18.5? I have 17.6, will this upgrade my current version or install separately?

I have been able to successfully access my Asustor 5304 Nas to all my networked computers but my stand alone media players cannot see the device - what are the steps?

Do I need to remove the security features?

They are android boxes that see my old shared folders ok but not my new Asustor 4 bay device

P.S. I don't seem able to start a new post - why is it so difficult?

Hi All, worked well for me, many thanks for this topic !
Just had to rescan all my database. Seems like the advanced settings.xml didn't follow. So yes the file followed but I think I didn't wait enough to get the proper library...weird but after anew scan of my library AND updating all extension manually every thing is proper and running within two hours.
Great work,
regards

Hi,
I read several topics about Kodi but this one really helped. Thanks a lot.

I have:
AS3120T model
ADM: 3.4.4.RAT2
X.Org10.14.8.R107
mykodi-patch disabled

Installed Kodi v18 from the package attached to this thread. Kodi works and sound too.

That should depend on what's the protocol your media players utilize. If you use Plex, then install Plex server on NAS.

"Post" should be easy. Not sure what you are talking. You'll need to provide more detailed info.
