File system compatibility

Post by moviewatcher666 »

Greetings all,

New here. Just purchased a AS5202T Nimbustor2. Looking forward to playing with it.

Question - does anyone know if the Thecus N2310 NAS file system is readable in my new Asustor NAS? Can I just take my 8 TB Seagate drives from the Thecus and drop into the Asustor and have it work? The drives are set up as RAID 1.

I don't have a problem backing up the data and transfer but was hoping for a faster transition.

Thanks to any tech savvy person to answer the questions.

No, I don't think so. It's nearly impossible to make 2 or more different NAS vendors store private configuration data with the same format (if no standard).

Yep...definitely no compatibility. All proprietary software on each NAS.

Oh, well. Glad I backed up all my data (TWICE!).

Thanks for the response Orion.
