AS4004T with SATA port multiplier?

Hello!

The AS4004T is very fast with 10GBE and still cheap. Unfortunately, only a maximum of 4 drives are possible. ;-(

Especially if you work with a Raid 6 or with several 2.5 SSD there is very fast no more space.

Asus offers an extension with the AS6004U, but you can not create volumes >4 drives and the price is almost a new AS4004T.


The real question: Can the NAS handle port multiplier?

I mean something like this:

I would like to use 4 or 5 SSD in the NAS and only use up 1-2 slots.
(yes, you have to make something, but you get there.)

Support the software and hardware port multiplier?
