Adding a single larger HDD

Post by Admiral_Krank »

Hi all,
I currently have 4 6tb drives on the AS5104T. However, one of them has gone bad and it's time to replace it. At some point I was looking to upgrade all the drives to 8tb, but it's not today. I'm about to head out on vacation, cash is limited, and I simply can't spend a lot of money upgrading all four drives.

So this is my quandry: could I just get a 8tb drive to replace one of them... and it then acts like a 6tb replacement until the day I upgrade the rest? All four drives are currently in a raid 10 relationship

Secondly, if I do this, is it possible to still upgrade the other 3 drives PLUS upgrade the capacity in the existing drive. Is this a situation that ADM supports?

The answers of both questions are yes. After you replace a drive, you need to wait for NAS synchronized to replace another drive.
