HI,
My 5110 nas will not load its volume - support inspected by remote ssh & says that the system volume ( as opposed to the data volume is corrupt, by some magic with mdadm they managed to mount the data volume for ftp access ( only) however before the data volume could be backed up the power went down leaving a non usable nas again
Please can someone guide me through the steps to
check & fix all disks / partitions
check & fix the data volume & mount it to be accessible again
& if possible get some more services going - rsync / samba etc ?
Many thanks
M

Re: how to manually rebuild nas 5110
Apologies for late reply - you've likely either solved or given up at this stage.
Same thing happened to me - around the same time as you as well... AND I have a 5110 ... (apart from the power related issue)..
I didn't think to try ftp through ssh. Instead I transferred the drives to a desktop where I'm using a 3rd party tool to recover the data I didn't have copies of elsewhere.
There's a few tools available that will do the job.
EDIT: Just found this:

I haven't tested to see if the information is still valid..
