Home Videos on the Portal

Post by petlap »

hi
How do I display my home video's in the Portal?
I can see Netflix via HDMI on my TV which is great but I also want to see home video's I've stored on my NAS.
I've tried installing Plex but its confusing and keeps asking for a server which is installed on the NAS which is odd.
I can see my videos on an iPad via AIVideos but not on my TV via HDMI
Is there a simple App that I can install and configure in the Portal favourites?
Or alternatively can I install an App that streams the video to HDMI.
Seems to me this is a basic feature that should just work.

Cheers
Peter

I'm have a AS6404T with 8G RAM and the latest ADM OS (3.2.1.RKU4)

I believe you can try XBMC: viewtopic.php?f=98&t=9588

yes, may do that but in a docker container, although looks-good sort of works via the portal but a bit clunky using the remote via an iPad

Nope, that should not put into docker as far as I know. This app should be able to display through HDMI interface of NAS.

If you try to access contents remotely (rather than display locally in NAS), you should install other media server apps. For example, Plex server, MiniDLNA, UPnP Media server...
