My NAS won't detect my disks any more?

Post by shaurz »

I have had my AS-602T set up with 2x WD Red 4TB drives for about 3 1/2 years now without any problems.

I moved house a couple of months ago and my NAS has been powered off for a while.

Now that I've tried to boot it up, it never finishes booting and the green light continues to flash. Both the red and green light on the hard drive bays are also lit.

In ASUSTOR control centre it show up as "Unintialized" and when I navigate to the IP address for the NAS it displays a page which says:
Initialize your NAS

No disks detected. You must install at least one disk before you can continue.
I have tried booting with just one disk inserted but I get the same result for both disks (except the red light on the hard drive bay is not lit).

Have both of my disks failed? Or has my NAS gone faulty?

I will eventually try to connect the drives to my PC to see if they are still functional, when I can find some SATA cables...

You'd better to send a support ticket to asustor to check it. https://support.asustor.com/
