Re: xl2tp
Hello Cipciop,
There is a l2tp client in the latest versions of the Windows operating system. I have tried many options, but apparently there is a magic spell which I did not cast and I cannot make a VPN connection to the NAS .
It would be nice if Asustor would have supplied some directions for a major OS on how to connect the VPN...
Best regards,
Kapitein Haak.

Re: xl2tp (solved)
Ok, solved, for windows. But no sense parameter.
I will write a few words on how to make the connection, however, are very disappointed by asustor, every time I see me (for the umpteenth time) solutions.

Re: xl2tp
Hello Cipciop,
I also got it to work with these settings. It NEEDS the PAP flag, making it totally useless. Why would one run a VPN (notice the P for "Private") and send a password in clear text across the internet?
Stick to OpenVPN for the time being.
Best regards,
Kapitein Haak.

But I posted the "solution" just to show the paradox.
One of many.
Report it? Lost time.
do not respond to requests or closing the ticket or if they respond very succinctly and evasively and inconclusive way.
In my opinion you have an answer only if you speak Chinese or Mandarin.
This week I try to connect in xl2tp in linux.
Stay tuned.
