There is a GIT app for asustor but there is no info on how to set it up.
Can someone please provide a step by step to show how to get it up and running

You are right in terms of not needing it for the usage you listed. And I thought the same thing. However, once you start doing app configuration and scripting while logged into the NAS, it is nice to use Git to checkpoint your changes. As soon as you start creating or tweaking your Docker setup/start/stop scripts on the NAS, you'll want to use Git.ericlgq wrote:I don't understand why NAS needs a GIT app.
