Commit to Support for Kodi on the AS7004T?

Post by 123zorn »

I've got an AS-304T and am considering purchasing the AS7004T, however I have a couple of concerns. XBMC 13 support is fine, however Kodi has just been released. I'm not particularly interested in getting the 7004T unless there is some commitment on Asustor's part to implement next versions of the XBMC client on hardware that can clearly support it.

1. Is Kodi support in development for the AS7XXX series as an app? If so is there a timeline on Kodi deployment?

2. Is there a commitment to continue development and deployment of the Kodi app (or its successor) for the AS7XXX series as long as they are sold/supported?

Get Chromecast+XBMC/Kodi on android, and you got a nice Kodi player, with a lot more support for a lot less.

If I were interested in getting separates, I most certainly would not be going via android but via Windows on an ITX machine that could also play and transcode ripped Blu-Ray on the fly. But this is not a discussion on separates, but an attempt to get clarification of support on an integrated RAID NAS system from the manufacturer...

Wow Asustor, really? No comment after nearly 2 weeks?

If you want to at least appear as if you care about support, it would be appropriate to make some sort of comment on a pre-sales question.

If this does not elicit a response shortly, I will make my current AS-304T my last purchase.

Thank you very much for the update.

Is there any timeline for deployment of Kodi on the AS7XXXT systems?
