Hi,
Caesar-NL wrote:Hi Philippe,
Kodi is working now as well, I just can't figure out how I can it to connect to my share with the videos
By the way, Kodi 18.3 is current.
To add share to myHD you have to use myHD command or myHD WebUI (for security I don't open access to Asustor shared folder by default, it's YOUR responsibility)
... add a shared folder (do for all shared resource needed) to myHD ex. Media or Music
... then restart myHD ( myHD restart)

type myHD without options to get help, I am in travel and don't have the exact syntax.

Last. each time you update Ubuntu, you get the last version of Kodi available ...
... if you want, you can move also to Kodi19 (search in myHD sub-forum) : viewforum.php?f=227

Hi Philippe,

Just a small message to say thank you for all your efforts. Kodi is running fine now, and I can say that I now have the Asustor box that I had hoped to buy in the first place. NAS plus excellent media player.

I bought myself an Rii i4 wireless mini keyboard with mouse pad and scroll wheel to use with the NAS. It has volume buttons as well, and real, big left and right click mouse buttons. Much easier to use than the IeRemote app.

By the way, did you notice that the audio level of YouTube is far to low in the new software version? YouTube has no volume control, Asustore has to fix it.

Best regards, and thanks again,

Dirk

Hello,

I am equipped with a 5002T model and fail so far with the procedure hyena brought in.

1. I cannot retrieve the x.org file needed (0010_999_1512708048_xorg_10.14.7.R33_x86-64.apk) in the directory at https://appdownload.asustor.com/. There is the R35 version but not R33

2. I anyway installed R35 version to at least check whether if next steps (remote center, as portal, kodi...) could work properly. When I use the file recommended in the process (0010_999_1508989612_remote-center_1.0.0.r157_x86-64.apk), there is an error message: "Remote center is not compatible with current ADM firmware version". For your information, my asustor is updated with AMD 3.4.7RFO2. Does this mean I am screwed to udpate Kodi? Should I go back to a previoius ADM version?

Thanks for your help, I am desperate :(

Hi,

I own a 5002T (my unique Asustor NAS with HDMI) where I integrate myHD APKG
... with myHD APKG, and default A.D.M. and Asustor delivery, you can run Kodi18 or Kodi19 (also Kodi17 in case) without problems on AS5002T. (also others players)

If you search other solution based on specific Xorg or what else ... I don't have any idea ...

Philippe.

Why did you not use the latest version 1.0.0.r187?

Hi,

Please can someone that owns AS5202T with intel J4005 test if the movies in codec HEVC (h265) 10bit work flawlessly in KODI (with no glitches)? Here's a short file sample https://www36.zippyshare.com/v/5ARKhjjg/file.html
Before I buy this model I want to be sure that the movies can be decoded without glitches.

Don't own this model. However you should be able to send a request here to check the result: https://support.asustor.com/

EDIT: I just asked my friend to test this video file. KODI (v18) on AS5202T can play this video file correctly and smoothly.

What about DTS-HD MA 5.1 does it play properly from KODI on Asustor?

Edit: I did my own test on QNAP TS-453D and it works fine :) But HDR->SDR conversion doesn't work in KODI. Did any one tried in KODI to play 4K HDR content on non HDR TV?
