No sound from Chrome and Chromium after using Kodi

Post by Caesar-NL »

This is a very odd problem. After using Kodi, it is impossible to get sound from the Chrome and Chromium browsers. In Kodi I have set the Audio settings to pass-though to the HDMI interface. Is it possible that Kodi attaches the HDMI interface, and does not release it when shutting down?

I now have to reboot the NAS after using Kodi in order to get sound from the browsers again.

Hi,

If you use Kodi from Asustor or another provider ... no idea

if you use MH-kodi18(17 or 19) in myHD
... first test using Chrome : MH-chrome APKG and not Chrome or Chromium from Asustor
... second test try to stop myHD (to free any resource reserved) then use chrome or chromium from Asustor

For Your Information ... Kodi and other tools in myHD use pulseaudio or direct HDMI output
... direct HDMI output free all resource when Kodi (for ex.) stop
... pulseaudio is spawned by application like Chrome to get sound

THE problem is : I have no idea how Asustor manage sound ... no pulse, perhaps direct access Alsa only ? ... or ... ? so the cohabitation is difficult.

BUT I repeat this is ONLY if you use myHD absolutely not if you don't use it.

Philippe.
