Hello,
ASUSTOR launched ADM 4.0 Beta with Linux kernel, Xorg, OpenSSL upgraded, and Kodi 18.7 cannot be used on ADM 4.0.
Originally, it was planned to upgrade to Kodi 19 directly, but the change was a bit big, and I cannot build the package now.
Therefore, Kodi 18.9 is released for everyone who upgrades to ADM 4.0 to use it first.
Kodi 18.9 can only be installed on ADM 4.0 x86-64 NAS.
If you have no plans to upgrade to ADM 4.0, please keep to use Kodi 18.7. (viewtopic.php?f=98&t=11335)
Please confirm other related apps (ASUSTOR Portal, Xorg, etc.) have been updated to the new version of ASUSTOR, please upgrade Apps in the Beta Apps of App Central.
The playback capability of 18.9 should be the same with Kodi 18.7 for difference ASUSTOR models.
Have a try if you needed !

Works well on my AS6102-T with ADM 4.0.0.RMD2.
Thanks so much for creating this new version.
I panic at first when I pressed upgrade to ADM 4.0, thinking that my Kodi is a goner.
Without Kodi, my Asustor main purpose is down the drain.
Thank you for saving my unit

How to install add-on inputstream.adaptive on this version.
I should be included in default kodi repository, but it isn't.
Also trying to install it from official github gives me an error.
https://github.com/xbmc/inputstream.ada ... 2.4.8-Leia
Without this plugin youtube add-on won't play higher then 720p quality.
EDIT:
So I checked this issue more deeply. Offical kodi repository does not contains this add-on build for linux and it should by installed from separately from repository.
https://kodi.wiki/view/HOW-TO:Install_Kodi_for_Linux
On ubuntu for example this is done
Is is possible to build and install this addon also for Asustor linux as you did with kodi?

Source type "SMB" disappeared.
Unable to add a new Windows smb source.
Does it happen to you too?

Thanks for the build!
I am missing VFS addons in the repository, cannot find any instructions on how to properly get it there aside from installing an external package but don't know how to do that on ASUSTOR.

Hi,
If you know the correct url //server_or_ip/share and credential ... use the last choice just after SMB ... to add a network target, then use SMB ... it's less friendly but works.
Philippe.
It's a compatibility problem with ADM (3 or 4), also existing with myHD APKG and Kodi18 & Kodi19 in myHD, I have not identified the problem BUT a workaround exist (TBC in this version of APKG)giorre wrote:Source type "SMB" disappeared.

It is just necessary that ZEROCONF is functional, SMB does not work very well on certain platformsfather.mande wrote:Hi,It's a compatibility problem with ADM (3 or 4), also existing with myHD APKG and Kodi18 & Kodi19 in myHD, I have not identified the problem BUT a workaround exist (TBC in this version of APKG)giorre wrote:Source type "SMB" disappeared.

Example: on Kodi Android you have to use Zeroconf, smb doesn't work
And if you want to read an SMB share on the Asustor from Android
provided that the Local Master Browser is active (you can disable it after the configuration)
