Suspected corrupt DOM

I have a 5104T that was stuck on "Starting System Please Wait" Last year a friend of mine with the same model was sent the recovery image from support. I tried that but it did not work.

With HDMI and keyboard I selected boot from a file, I found a boot file on the USB and it booted! But the display and indicators are incorrect and the fan does not run. When I entered the GUI I could confirm that all apps are running and Raid array is in tact.

So here is the question. It informed me of an update to ADM 4.00 something, should I do this? will it overwrite the DOM and fix my issue?
