you can with a little effort it appears take your current install all the way to version 7

follow update instructions on owncloud website to update to latest release of version 6, then use that as a basis to upgrade to version 7.

This may break if app updates however so maybe try unistalling app 1st if worried? and do a manual install of owncloud. It depends on data you have and how easily it goes.

just to confirm, I copied my owncloud dir (using file explorer) and then removed app, I then copied it back and the upgraded server still works. This will mean I have to update manually from within the server, but all appears fine for now.

Of course, you do all this stuff at your own risk

I followed the instructions on owncloud at http://doc.owncloud.org/server/7.0/admi ... pdate.html

scroll down until you see 'Upgrading the ownCloud Server'

I stopped the web service from the adm and then used winscp to do the copying, renaming etc

it all went smoothly enough, so much so that I migrated the database to mysql as well. I didn't make notes as I went along but if you get stuck I will try to help, I no longer have the app installed, just stand alone owncloud.
