Dumb newbie VPN question (please be gentle!)

Hi

I can see how to configure the VPN app so that it will give me access to my NAS but I had expected to be able to use the server as a gateway to allow me to 'remote in' to other resources on my LAN (not just the Asustor)

Is there a way to do this and if so, please could you explain it in moronically simple steps!
