Cant change server name in reverse proxy domain

Post by darkxuy »

Hi.

When creating a new Proxy Domain, in the reverse proxy service, I cant change the server name field, the only option I have is *.

Is this a bug or I am not understanding how this reverse proxy works, it just redirects ports? I'm trying to use different subdomains for each different service.

From what I see you can only use a wildcard or the domain you use in the DDNS in Settings > Manual Connect > DDNS. Kinda limited IMHO. If you want to use your personal domain and subdomain (or those not listed in the DDNS options) the possible solution is to run nginx reverse proxy in docker or chroot.

Thanks for the confirmation.

Agree is very limited, I guess is a functional solution but not practical at all.

Ended up with nginx at router level.

Updates, I was fooling around even though I already have nginx reverse proxy setup in chroot since day one. That is you can use domains from the ssl certs you've created or imported at Settings -> Certificate Manager. I have some wildcard certs imported into the cert manager and now I see all my cert domains including all its SANs in the drop down list. You have to select ssl though, http only shows those DDNS domains. Duh this wasn't really well documented.
