Cannot login to utorrent app - incorrect username/password

Post by penyekz »

When I load the app, I am prompted to enter username and password. After I enter, it just says incorrect. How can this be when I can log in to other apps using same details but utorrent does not accept. Is there another generic username/password I need to enter?

How does this app compare to download centre? Seems to be about the same?

in app center, click on utorrent, in the description click the "more" arrow to see all of the defaults.

Download center is an Asustor written app. It hasn't got the same complete set of features that utorrent or other torrenting apps have.

Because of this, Download Center is basically for... wait for it.... downloading.... Utorrent and other more robust torrenting apps are also designed more along the seeding and upload as well as download processes.

U can add torrents to 'utorrent' remotely and easily with "utorrent remote" android app.

I guess the core functions are not different, but some people want options.
There are more 3rd party Apps for Transmission, deluge and utoent, compared to Downlod center. Also Transmission, deluge and UTorrent can run postprocess scripts and can be directly configured with CouchPotato and SickBeard

Download Center, however good (or bad) it is, will not make it onto any private tracker sites that use client whitelists unless it advertises itself as being Transmission (as I believe it's back-end is built on the Transmission daemon).

Avoid uTorrent as it's buggy as hell, and the remote GUI functionality is especially so. I had major issues with this on my previous NAS so it's not an Asustor / ADM issue, more an issue with how Bittorrent Inc. are doing their utter damndest to trash uTorrent's once stellar reputation. I'm now using Deluge as it supports a client / server model not unlike Transmission + Transmission Remote, but with added SSL and Proxy support which Transmission doesn't natively support, as well as 3rd party plugin support too.

Also, as Clinton points out, it also works with his excellent post-processing scripts, once you realise how to set them up correctly, eh Clinton?
