"Out of sync" issue

Hi,
I need some help with BTsync (or any other sync solution available for 304).
Here's what I need to do. I need a backup solution for a Windows PC that my wife uses. She keeps a mess there, important files are mixed with some trash etc. So basically I need to sync pretty much every folder she uses for storing files. It shouldn't matter how many Gb are there.
I tried BTsync, it more or less handled synchronising ~100 gb of files. The problem started later. This PC us used from time to time when she writes her PhD thesis. Sometimes it's everyday, sometimes it's once a month.
And in case there are 2 peers (PC and 304) after a week I get an "Out of sync error"
Is there a way to force BTsync to check all the files and sync them anyway? Or is there any other app available to cope with this case?
