Does UPnP Media Server 2 pose a security risk?

The UPnP Media Server V2 App can turn your NAS into your home's multimedia streaming server.
As long as you have devices that support UPnP or DLNA (for example, SONY BRAVIA TV, SAMSUNG TV or PlayStation 3),
you can directly browse and stream the media files stored on your NAS.

In case that you setup NAS to be accessible locally (i.e., LAN), your NAS is safe. It implies that you cannot reach your NAS outside your home, so hackers neither.

Thanks. My current plan is to set static IP for the devices that require access on my LAN and whitelist. Is there an easier way?

If your network environment is simple (a home gateway with DHCP enabled, all of other devices such as NAS, TV... etc. are connected directly to this gateway), you can simply disable DDNS, EZ-Connect, EZ-Router in NAS. That's done. You don't need to setup static IP addresses for every home devices.
