Boxee Digital audio ouput

I changed the settings in Boxee audio ouput to Digital. I dont hear any sound, I had to change it back to stereo, then works fine. I am using a AV receiver (capable of all audio codecs). I have connected HDMI from NAS to Receiver then HDMI from receiver to my TV. I heard similar problem with QNAP too. Any suggestions?

I have tried both Denon 4311 receiver and a LG (LHB977) home theater receiver.
