Logitech Media Server on new AS-5002T

Postby pentode » Mon Apr 06, 2015 10:27 pm

Hi!

I have a brand-new AS-5002T but have been unable to get the Logitech Media Server 7.7.2.r0127c to work correctly.

The first scan on installation seems to correctly catalogue the music, but when I add any more music and do a rescan, the the existing albums no longer have any content and the artist count is zero.

I am using just flac files that I have copied from a Synology NAS running version 7.5.3 - r31792 without any problems.

I have tried updating the ADM from 2.3.0.RBS9 to 2.4.0.RFU6 but that has made no difference.
I was able to successfully update the Logitech Media Server 7.7.2.r0127c to version 7.8.0 - 1395409907 but that has made no difference either.

I would appreciate any suggestions to get this working.

I would suggest you to send a support request to asustor.

Sorry I'm new to all this. Is that how it works?

This is a 3rd party app, not an Asustor app.

Looking at other forum posts here and Asustor's App Central, it appears to be supported by Clinton Hall, not Asustor.

Update: I've just looked at raising a support ticket with Asustor, but there is no catagory for 3rd party apps, only Asustor apps.

It could result from compatibility issue with ADM system. Of course, it may result from LMS itself, or content dependent. By reporting to asustor, they should be able to check what's the problem at least. And communicate to maintainer directly. Yes, you remind me the category without 3rd party item. Maybe, multimedia is the right one. :)

I am running 7.7.2.r0127c and have no idea how to upgrade but I can play without problems except for FLAC - I have had to transcode to mp3.

I suspect the lack of LAME in version 7.7.2.r0127c may be to blame?? I have just check the Asustor apps and Logitech is no longer offered!! Very worrying as this was the only reason I went with this NAS.
