2 Channels instead of Multi PCM

Post by rabside »

Hi all,
I'm trying this interesting server but I have an audio problem, maybe alsa related.
When I play something my AVR recognize the stream as Multi PCM, when it's obviously a stereo track.
This issue is really annoying because my AVR tries to use all its channels and the Watt per channel ratio decreases.
I own an Anthem MRX 700 and it delivers about 120 Watts per channel (2 channels driven) or 90 Watts per channel (5 channels driven).
So the question is: how can I set Alsa to use only 2 channels?

Thx a lot

I use the Logitech embedded player, but I can see the same issue with XBMC and iTune Server. So, I think it is an ALSA problem
