Stop working after python upgrade

Sick Beard is a PVR for newsgroup users (with limited torrent support). It watches for new episodes of your favorite shows and when they are posted it downloads them, sorts and renames them, and optionally generates metadata for them. It currently supports NZBs.org, NZBMatrix, NZBs'R'Us, Newzbin, Womble's Index, NZB.su, TVTorrents and EZRSS and retrieves show information from theTVDB.com and TVRage.com.

Stop working after python upgrade

Hi All,

I've been notified today about a python upgrade, 2.7.10r7.
After the upgrade, SickRage does no longer start:

Have exactly the same errors when I try starting SickBeard via a PuTTY session. It looks like the update to Python broke this app, somehow.

I am experiencing the same issue.
I love my AS-202TE a little too much. :)

My understanding is that from python 2.7.9, SSL is mandatory and the latest python's package is compiled with NO ssl support.
This breaks a lot of existing packages, not just SickBeard/SickRage :-/

I've managed to decompile the old python's apk (2.7.3) and change the version to something higher than 2.7.10
Installed the tweaked apk manually has made the trick, now sickbeard and sabnzbd are back to work, but lost SSL support!
This is intended as a temporary workaround, not really a solution, but if you wanna try it, send me a PM.

I have been coming to expect that Asustor's implementation of any outside scripting language3s, this one was screwed up. This update to Python has been no exception, I guess.

I tried the Python repackage from infinityzx, and it gets SickBeard working again. Sadly, it breaks the auto-conversion scripts I've been using to convert media from different formats to MP4 H264, AAC in Audio 1, and any extended channels in Audio 2.

Win some, lose some... :)

...asustor... :o
AS-304T
If you own a series 2/3/6 Asustor it's very likely you won't get XBMC 13.x/Kodi.
But easily you'll end buying a kitchen from UK.
