As a newbie, i intend to buy an Asustor AS-202TE (or which one ofr a beginner), i need your precious advice, suggestion, i appreciate your help, i want to use it as NAS, files shared with my family, a sort of backup storage, XBMC is it good to play 4K??? transcoder in MKV from blueray??? which camera to choose for video surveillance, which hard disk to buy...

Hello,

Nope ! Don't take a AS-X02 series if you intend to use XBMC/Kodi as it's not maintained anymore, plus it can support 1080p only.
You should look for the AS3102T as it supports 4k and has Kodi, of course the price won't be the same.

On the set up side, it's very easy. You just have to follow what is on the screen and you're mostly done depending on what you plan to do.
