Hi,
I'm entirely new to the NAS concept, and I'm thinking of buying the Asustor Lockerstor 2 AS6602T as my first NAS. I have a few questions:
- I have two HDD's, different types and sizes, with a bunch of data on them. Can I just put these in the NAS in a JBOD configuration and the existing data will be accessible (for example in Windows or Plex)? Or will any drive have to be formatted?
- JBOD: I understand this will combine multiple drives into one big drive, but does this mean that a certain folder can be split across two physical drives?

Re: Thinking about buying first NAS, a few questions
You will have to move the existing data elsewhere, initialize the two disks as JBOD then move back your data. It's the same for all JBOD setups.
For the second question it's possible depends on the filesystem how the data is distributed.
