AS1004T Disk Location

Hi,


I struggle every time when I got to replace a faulty disk with the Disk Slot allocation.


I was unable to find an hint in the manual which is Bay 1 and what's Bay 4 (and so on)


Is it possible to get an "updated" manual or some kind of graphics where you can see this?

The disk slots aren't labled/numbered in the NAS itselfe.

Hello BaZo,

Logon to ADM and click on Storage manager. Hover with your mouse pointer over the disk number and the graphic of your NAS and your disk is displayed!

Thanks, unfortunately there is no graphic shown. Right now my opportunity is to write down the serial, shut down the nas, check all 4 drives against the serial to find the faulty one.

I get the following information:

I *think* the bays are numbered left to right, but you only need to check once and label either the left or right bay and be done for it in the future.

I guess that the AS1004T doesn't support this, as the disks have no front panel access. The disks can only be accessed by opening the enclosure.




Additional therefore the disks aren't from left to right mounted as in your example, they are mounted from up to down or down to up (and that is the relevant point.....)

Finaly I was able to document this for the future (and for other struggled users as well)

I just read ASUSTOR QIG. It seems updated HDD sequence HDD1, HDD2, HDD3 and HDD4 in QIG.
