Tips for stuck tray?

Hi,

Replacing the discs in my AS-606T (6 x 3TB in RAID 6) as I've run out of storage. Trouble is Tray 1 is seriously stuck. The other five trays remove easily but jiggling the lever up-and-down and side to side just won't release No1. It really feels like I'll break the lever if I continue.

There's no history of that drive running hot (SMART has always reported about 55 deg C) but it has been in there for several years.

Anyone have any tips?

Try to

• Release the handle of slot-1. The handle should eject to form about 45 degree angle.
• Put a force toward down side (from the handle), then remove the tray.

Thanks Orion. It did eventually come free but the latch is now broken so the lever sticks out.

Rebuild times are slower than I was expecting. It's taking about 36 hours per disc!
