External back to usb-harddisk failed

Ather a month of succesfull backing up mij shares to a locally connected usb-drive the backup failes with the following message:

[sender] could not find xattr #1 for Fotos/2015/mapnamexxxxxx
rsync error: protocol incompatibility (code 2) at /asustor/branch2_5_2015_10_07/x64_g2/source/rsync-3.0.9/xattrs.c(619) [sender=3.0.9]



A Google searh doesn't give me any clues how to solve this problem.

Can anyone help me or at least point me in the right direction to solve this problem!

You'd better to send a support request to asustor to check it.

What is the format of the disk, try formatting it as ext4, the same as the volume you are copying from, and see if that helps.

I had a similar problem and that fixed it
