Can't setup TimeMachine

Post by Blahdiblah »

Hi,

I just got a 302t and have being trying unsuccessfully to setup Time Machine for my mac running Yosemite.

I can get the NAS to appear in a finder window as a 'shared' device and can copy files to and from it. I have selected the correct 'enable Time Machine support' check box in the Services menu in ADM.

However, when I open Time Machine preferences, the NAS (and the folder I've setup on the NAS for my backups) isn't visible as an option when I click 'select disk'. How can I make Time Machine preferences 'see' the NAS?

Any help would be appreciated.

Never mind. Fixed it myself. Turns out the address of the drive to connect to has to start with //afp rather than smb.

The manual should be a bit clearer than it is.
