Just got my 604 and everything works great so far. I am now moving my several TB data from an old qnap nas to my new asustor, and thanks to a great backup feature on this asustor NAS so i don't need to transfer the files thru my mac at all! here is how i do it:
1. Since most NAS support rsync or FTP server, so you just enable it on the source NAS
2. You can simply create a backup job in Backup & Restore, and pull all the data from the source.
That's it, very simple and easy

Re: Moving data from another NAS
well i did this within my local area network so should be safe enough
i like rsync since ftp is slower when dealing with small files, but rsync can be very slow for the 1st time transfer/backup....so...as i was just trying to move my data from my old qnap to the asustor, not trying to make a replication here, so i still went for ftp
