Migrate to smaller array with bigger disks

Post by a94marbo »

Hi
I have a 4-bay (LOCKERSTOR 4 AS6604T) NAS with a 3+1 raid configuration with 4 pcs of 4 TB drives.
Is it possible to migrate from a 3+1 with 4 TB disks to a 2+1 with 8 TB disks?

Size wise it is ok, but does the migration tool allow that?

The reason is that I would like to save money until I need to buy the 4th 8TB disk.

It's not a supported operation.
AS5304T - 16GB DDR4 - ADM-OS modded on 2GB RAM
Internal:
- 4x10TB Toshiba RAID10 Ext4-Journal=Off
External 5 Bay USB3:
- 4x2TB Seagate modded RAID0 Btrfs-Compression
- 480GB Intel SSD for modded dm-cache (initramfs auto update patch) and Apps
