Backing up Linux box to As1002T v2

Post by dmtparker »

I bought the AS1002T v2 because it was listed as 'Linux friendly' in a review article. I want to do daily backups of my Linux box (running Mx-19) to the NAS.
Following the tutorial, I enabled CIFS, NFS, FTP, webDAV, and Rsync Server. I have tried smb://192.168.1.68 and get: "Failed to retrieve share list from server. Invalid argument." ftp allowed me to connect and I can now see the 'Home' directory in thunar. I can manually transfer files to NAS.
I tired to do a backup with luckybackup, but got "rsync: failed to set times on "/run/user/1000/gvfs/ftp:host=192.168.1.68/Public/Backup/.FBReader": Operation not supported (95) rsync: failed to set times on "/run/user/1000/gvfs/ftp:host=192.168.1.68/Public/Backup/.adobe": Operation not supported (95)"etc. After that it appears that luckybackup is running and indeed it creates all of the folders on the NAS, but copying the actual files fails. I am not wedded to luckybackup, it is just one I have used successfully before. I am open to any solution that will allow me to do nightly automated backups.
Thanks for the help.
