ADM Defender and DLNA

Post by user53 »

Hi everyone,

When running the media server (MiniDLNA) in combination with the ADM Defender firewall, all my DLNA client stop seing the media server after a couple of minutes. I've already unblocked all client IPs within ADM Defender.

Is this a known issue or is there any tweak that I have to apply?

Best regards!

Is your policy set to allow or deny? Do you mean ADM Defender is auto blocking the client IPs listed in the auto black list? That shouldn't happen unless your clients continuously has failed login attempts i.e. via CIFS. Let's see some screenshots. Try adding the client IPs to the white list. Usually when this happens I'll first take a look at AVs and router perspectives.

Since I'm accessing the data via UPNP (media server), there are no login credentials involved. When using this configuration, all my clients (Bubble UPnP, VLC on two different Android devices, 1 Bose SoundTouch speaker) stop seeing my media server. When switching back to "Allow all connections", the problems are gone.

Instead of adding each local IP, try adding as subnet instead.

Good idea, thanks for that. Unfortunately, the behavior remains the same.
