NAS setup

Hi Everyone,

New to NAS ,can anyone kindly let me know how to setup backup from different devices ( mobile,iPad, laptop and desktop). What apps does what and what is for what purpose. May sound dumb ,but just want to set up neatly and arrange everything as it should .
