Help! Migrating from AS6204T to AS6510T

Post by buddyweiser86 »

I currently have a 4-bay AS6204T with 4x10tb HDD's in Raid5 with only 140gb free space. I would like to move the entire array to the 10-bay AS6510T. Can I move the HDD's over to the new system without having to setup a new volume? I want to keep the Raid5 array and then expand it with two new 10tb HDD's. I have not purchased either of these items yet, and would like some feedback on weather or not this is possible. Please help, I would like to not lose any of my data.

If possible, I would like to keep all of my installed apps and app data!

Yes, you can migrate to new NAS by simply move all of disks to new NAS. When you turn the new NAS on, your data should be ready.

However you'll need to check apps under App Central. Some apps might be disabled automatically and need to be updated manually.
