backup to external (protected) hdd

Post by roelnic »

Hi All,

a queston from a newby.
I just bought a AS4002T mostly for backup reasons.
I want to backup all data once in a while to an external HDD (and store it somewhere else).
I would like to protect / secure this external HDD, it is not possible to see data (e.g. with password or encrypt data).
I use the default backup functionality of my NAS (at the moment unprotected).

Are there any best practices to fullfill situation above?

Hope to hear from you!

Best regards,

Roel

You can use MyArchive function which can encrypt your disk and can work as an external disk (not the same, but similar). However it will consume one of internal NAS slot.
