PHP 5.5.0 support

Post by maxani »

Hi everyone and Asustor staff.

Can we expect an update to PHP 5.5.0 about the web server?

Thank you.

Hi,

I am also waiting for a PHP version update

/usr/builtin/bin/php version is currently 5.3.27
most up to date ipkg version is 5.2.17

I would like to run a Pocketmine (Minecraft PE) server, which requires 5.4 at a minimum.

When does Asustor plan to update the builtin version to 5.4 or later?

Cheers.

Is it possible to manually upgrade php?
Without IPKG?

If so, anybody tried?

Is it possible to ask for a step by step manual?

Thanks

Any news on an update for PHP? The latest version is 5.6.0.

I only purchased my AS-304T today and so far it's great. It's really useful that I can now host websites on this device instead of running them locally on my PC. However, for it to be really useful it needs to be running the latest version of PHP.

In future releases it would be better if you can allow the end user to update to the latest version rather than wait for the Asustor team to implement it.

It would also be useful if we could easily edit the php.ini file.

Hi

Already seen that but it's not very practical and could/should be made easier.

Bumping this thread to hope that a PHP update comes soon, as I'd like to upgrade my Moodle install to a new strand.

Just updated my 304T with ADM (Version:ADM 2.3.0.RBSC, Release Date:2014-12-09) and still no update on PHP. The installed version on my 34T is 5.3.27 but the latest version available from PHP is 5.6.3.

It is rather frustrating when one would consider this update to be simple to implement!

Actually there's a beta package to bring PHP 5.5 (5.5.13). But it doesn't work very well. It would be really great that Asustor upgrade PHP for good.

Multimedia stuff is nice but a NAS is also a web server, a dev device.
