Hi all,

a short initial question from me.
Is there a way to use seafile on my Asustor AS6204T?

Post a link and let us take a peak at what you are asking for.

It may be possible. Or it might not work at all.

@MikeG.6.5 thank you for your interest on my question and so sorry for my late response.

I tried to figure out more by my self about to run seafile server on a Asustor AS6204T.
I also tried out seafile in productive environment to see how sense it makes to work whit this sync server.
I tried out synchthing, good sincovery, resilio, nextcloud etc...to come to the conclusion its worth it to think about seafile on the Asustore NAS.
All this other packages are not really working as good as the cloudstation on synology products.

Here is a link which shows a how to, unfortunately it's in german https://nas-selber-bauen.de/seafile-fuer-ein-nas/ or the official in english https://manual.seafile.com/deploy/

The tools from Asustor running only on windows, like real time sync or on MAC.
Nothing for Linix users.
I also don't like the Aidata, it's not possible to Sync Folders.
There is also a possibility to reach the synched Data by WEBDAV or FTP https://manual.seafile.com/extension/webdav.html

I am only a versatile user, I can do some things, but I am not able to do this work...

Will be great to see seafile on the asustor Devices....

Best D.

PS: If needed I can share the credentials for this hosted version

OK, this is a Cloud app, similar to NextCloud, OwnCloud, DropBox, etc. Now I understand what it is, at least.

NextCloud installs perfectly and works really well. I even use it to host my Adobe Lightroom library data on the NAS to be used by 2 or more machines. As long as they aren't using LightRoom concurrently, there are no problems.

While I can understand ou want your app in Asustor's environment, you may be better served asking the developers of the app to make an Asustor version. If Asustor developers make it, it's going to sit at an old version for a long time. And if one of the non-Asustor folks make it, they are going to do this as a favor, not because they are using the app.

Or you can try to make a version to run on Asustor yourself. This is possible, but it takes a bit more than what I can muster up... (Still trying to figure out how to get NetData updated on my own...) :(
