Hey all,

been a while since I pushed anything new. But since I finally got my build environment for ARM working properly again, I decided to push some new stuff! I've been dying to have these on my NAS but haven't bothered packaging them up before now.

New packages:
You can find some more information and tips on the github page for each package. Download links are below.

Current package versions:

Code: Select all

coreutils: 8.25.0
ncurses: 6.0.0
tmux: 2.2.0
vim: 7.4.1821-r1
zsh: 5.2.0-r2

Hi Manfredi,

Good job.
For your information Entware-ng (including +1900 packages) include :
zsh 5.1.1
vim 7.4.3
and coreutils (but at separate commands) 8.23.2

Entware-ng can run on
x86_64
x86 and Arm model (with one adding line in config file (linked to structure of /opt))

All source packages come from OpenWRT (github) ...
list for armhf (armv7 Asustor arm model) : http://entware.zyxmon.org/binaries/armv7/Packages.html

It's absolutely not to stop in any manner your good job ... just that you know ... the biggest advantage on Linux box is to have multiple versions and solutions for a same question or problem ... (some similar case need in fact different approach ... )

Philippe.

Thanks. And I'm aware of Entware-ng, it's just that I prefer having the packages separate, allows for better integration with ADM in my opinion. For example with coreutils I've linked all the commands prefixed with "g", e.g. gls (ls) in the global PATH (/usr/local/bin) so that they can easily be used without conflicting with system binaries, and I've introduced an additional folder that can be manually included in the PATH which includes the commands without the "g"-prefix (best of both worlds).

The versions I've made available are: coreutils-8.25, vim-7.4.1821, zsh-5.2. So slightly newer. Of course Entware-ng has the added benefit of automatic updates benefitting from others work, whereas these are dependent on me updating them (which I intend to). Although, my experience with Entware-like repositories is that they usually lag behind on software which is a total bummer.

Don't worry, didn't take it as such :).

I've just added two new packages, tmux and ncurses. Zsh and vim have also been updated to depend on ncurses.

Cheers,
Mathias
