Version 1.6.1 installed on Asustor 5202T 3.5.7.RKU2
There is no icon and the description doesn't list a port/path. How do you access it?
EDIT:
admin@xxx:/volume1/home/admin $ ps -ef | grep octo
1300 1000 0:02 /home/octo_user/OctoPrint/venv3/bin/python3 /home/octo_user/OctoPrint/venv3/bin/octoprint daemon --port 5000 start
You should add port 5000 to the documentation.

Hi,
Hum!, if install run as well a second icon (fake) is created WHEN octoprint start (and deleted when stop) with Octoprint icon and port write in RED inside if not, I will check ...
Why creating a second icon ... it's in case you have multiple 3D printer, so you can easily create others icons with other port to be able to differentiate it.
I will redo a fresh install on my AS5202T to see if I can reproduce the problem
in parallel, can you print here the result of the command : apkg --list OR apkg --list | grep ^octo ... to see if fake octo5000 exist or not.
Philippe.
NB have a look, please, to log (AppCentral)

Re: [Octoprint 1.6.1] ADM 3.x & 4.x NOW in AppCentral
Hi Phillipe, just wanted to thank you for creating the OctoPrint installation for Asustor. I've been successfully using the application with my 3D printer for about a year now. It's truly amazing how much of a difference it makes using Octoprint.
However as of the last server update I'm no longer able to connect to my 3D Printer via a USB cable plugged into the back of my server. When running OctoPrint it's simply unable to connect (when serial port and baud rate are set to auto).
I've tried a bunch of things with no success. I just wanted to check in with you to see if this is a known issue. Is it just me? Are you or anyone encountering the same issue? Trying to figure out how much effort I should spend in diagnosing the problem and if I should submit an issue to Asustor support relating to possible loss of USB serial functionality.
From a high-level Steps taken include:
- Re-attaching the cable to both the printer and server.
- Rebooting the 3D printer and server.
- Reinstalling OctoPrint on my server.
- Logged in to server via SSH and checked the ports with the printer connected and not connected but not seeing any differences using command "ls /dev | grep tty".
- Confirmed there is no issue with the cable or 3D printer itself by manually installing Python and Octoprint onto my Windows desktop and was able to connect Octoprint to the printer.
Basic System Info:
- Asustor 4.1.0.RJD1
- Octoprint 1.8.1
- Voxelab Aquila 3D Printer

Re: [Octoprint 1.6.1] ADM 3.x & 4.x NOW in AppCentral
Hi,
Octoprint require specific kernel modules (provide in the APKG)
BUT for ADM 4.1.x ... Asustor don't provide yet the kernel tree to generate this modules ... so this break Octoprint up to the availability of this modules
I just survey when Asustor provide kernel source and as soon as possible, I generate the USB serial modules require and update (or provide an how-to temporary patch) with the requested modules.
So be patient, and, if you are a believer pray for a quick delivery

Hi,
Even I am just a user, so without the experience and professional approach of other real specialist, I have finish this night to generate all modules and add USB serial requested
Today I run some test before delivery with my APKG requesting this modules. modules load but it's not enough (for me ... I am "old school")
I have also to understand the difference with Nazar78 module size of module are different my cp210x.ko is at 501256 bytes when Nazar78 one is at 547088 bytes
For the delay, just remember I am in travel and 14 of July is the French national fest.
Please just wait to end of this day. (French hours)
Philippe.
