Doesn't work with subtitels

The UPnP AV Media Server app can turn your NAS into your home multimedia streaming server. As long as you have devices that support UPnP or DLNA (for example, SONY BRAVIA TV or PlayStation3), you can directly browse and stream the pictures, music and videos stored on your NAS.

Doesn't work with subtitels

Post by Kalima40 »

Hi!

Nice app but it doesn't work at all with subtitles for my LG Smart TV 42LN5708.
I have movies and subtitles in the same folder like following:
example.mp4
example.srt

Movies plays fine but subtitle doesn't work.

TV works like a charm with my other NAS with the brand Netgear and plays movies with subtitles so it's got to be something wrong with ASUSTOR UPNP Media Server implementation.

I have also tried ASUSTOR UPNP V2 and then the movie and subtitle is combined to a single file without extension so the LG TV says it's not a playable format = i can't watch any movies with subtitles.

I hope there's some way to fix this.

Regards Daniel

same issue here, and also LG tv... frustrating!!

XBMC is crap, plex doesnt read the subs.... we need a new media player,

when in xbmc and selecting subtitles, i get strange artifacts on the screen, and they only go away if i exit xbmc

the new xbmc works better, no more issues other than out of sync audio sometimes, i will only use Plex media server, after youtubing how to use subtitles, its much better than xbmc...

i will only use xbmc for live tv streaming once they fix it for the 302
