DLNA server with Panasonic TV

The UPnP AV Media Server app can turn your NAS into your home multimedia streaming server. As long as you have devices that support UPnP or DLNA (for example, SONY BRAVIA TV or PlayStation3), you can directly browse and stream the pictures, music and videos stored on your NAS.

DLNA server with Panasonic TV

Post by kaad »

Hi,

I just received my AS-602T and everything is working fine except DLNA.
I have a bunch of .mkv movies that don't play. The tv says that the file type is incorrect.
If I play the same .mkv file from usb-stick attached to the tv everything works, even merged subtitles.
DLNA server V2 (apk) shows the movie but it transcodes the movie with mencoder and the subtitles are missing.
If I set up eg. PS3 media server (no transcoding) on a Windows 7 computer I can play all the movies.
Is there any fix to this? The tv is Panasonic TX-P46G30 (also tried on a TX-P42GT30).
Basically what is needed is that the DLNA server will send everything "as is", no transcoding etc.

The main reason for me of buying AS-602T was to use it as a media server!

And no, Plex doesn't work either, I get distorted and off aspect ratio picture...

Outstanding work from Asustor support.
They made a special version of uPnP server which solved my mkv problem.
Then I found out that mp4's don't play.
Next day I received a revised version of the server => mp4's work nice.
Now everything is working perfecty!
Thanks once again Elsa!
