【Newsletter#189】ASUSTOR Makes Upgrading to a New ASUSTOR NAS Easy

Post by Eva.W@AST »

When it’s time to upgrade to a newer and better ASUSTOR NAS, we have you covered. Whether it’s time to replace an older model or just simply growing your storage capabilities, an ASUSTOR NAS makes it easy to transfer from an old NAS to a new one.

Things to note before performing system migration:
1. In order to avoid accidents or loss of data, it is strongly recommended that you back up data that is in your NAS first.
2. The target NAS must have equal to or a greater number of drive bays or M.2 slots than the source NAS.
3. To use an older NAS model as the target NAS, please make sure that the ADM version of the target NAS is equal to or greater than the ADM version of the source NAS.

How to perform system migration:
1. Ensure that the target NAS version is greater or equal to the version number on the source NAS.
2. Power off the NAS.
3. Move the hard drives or SSDs from the source NAS to the target NAS and turn it on.
4. After the target NAS has booted up, ADM will work normally.
5. If necessary, please update apps in App Central after logging into ADM.
